Research Description

In my research I am investigating the evolutionary diversification of gene function on a molecular level. By characterising the functional differences of conserved genes between green algae (Chara baunii), liverworts (Marchantia polymorpha) and angiosperms (Arabidopsis thaliana), I am uncovering the molecular changes which allowed for the diversification of gene functions during land plant evolution.
