Research description

I work on ecosystem responses to tree disease, specifically ash dieback, an invasive fungal pathogen (Hymenoscyphus fraxineus) which is currently threatening the UK’s 3rd most common broadleaved tree, common ash (Fraxinus excelsior). I am using experimental and computer-based techniques to investigate the likely impacts of loss of ash on ecosystems across the UK, from changes in provision of ecosystem services to community changes or loss of associated organisms.
