From dusty cupboards to the internet: the Wytham diaries of a great Oxford Ecologist

Diaries written by Charles Elton (then Director of the Bureau of Animal Population, Oxford) detailing c.400 visits to the Woods between 1943 and 1965 have now been put into Oxford Research Archive:

These illustrate the early days of the University’s ownership of the Woods, and some of the arguments over how it should be managed.
